February 23 - We took Sevyn to Shriner’s Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Shriner’s is a hospital that specializes in pediatric orthopedics. We wanted to get a third opinion about her hand.
The doctor was very hands-on and did an x-ray. He mentioned that surgery to straighten out her index finger would be recommended after all the necrotic tissue fell off. She would be in a cast for about four weeks and then we would have to return to Philly for follow-up.
The Doctor asked OT to make her a splint to be worn while she’s sleeping. It’s to help keep her pinky finger elongated and straight.
