Update: The doctors were ready to discharge us, but we did not feel comfortable. We felt a bit rushed. We were only given about 24-48 hours to learn how to administer her blood thinner shot and ng feedings.
We also felt uncomfortable with the care and plan (or lack thereof) regarding her right hand.
Do not be afraid to advocate for yourself or your children. Many people do not know this, but you can block a discharge if you feel uncomfortable with the doctor’s decision.
Today was parade day for P.O.M.! Coco came to watch Sevyn.
2:00 PM - Aunt Angie & Uncle Ric came to visit!
3:00 PM - The team came around to look at her right hand because the nurse reported some drainage on her splint. They are going to have Ortho take a look.
Tasha requested that wound care be consulted as well.
5:45 PM - Hero and Phoenix are here!
8:25 PM - Her blood is drawn to verify the correct dosage of her blood thinning medication.
8:30 PM - Ortho stops by to look at the wound on her right hand. He says it does not look infected. We still prefer a consult with the Wound Team, as that’s their specialty.
