I don't know who I'd be if I didn't know YOU ~ Thank God, I do!

“You're my safe place, My hideaway, You're my anchor, My saving grace, You're my constant, My steadiness, You're my shelter, My oxygen..

I don't know who I'd be if I didn't know You ~~Thank God, I do”

I can’t imagine going through this journey with Sevyn not knowing the Lord. Sure, we’ve had moments of worry, but it’s outweighed by our faith. It’s okay to need Jesus and need doctors too. We know that the doctors do not have the final say. His Word promises us that she is healed (past tense) and we believe it’s just a matter of time before we see it on this side of heaven.

2:00 AM - I woke up to her monitor beeping (which has never happened overnight). The nurse said that they were allowing her to breathe independently - testing it out for 2 hours, and I think it went well.

4:30 AM - I woke up again, and she was getting a little bath.

6:30 AM - An Ultrasound Technician stopped by to scan her arms and legs.

6:40 AM - Urology Doctors stopped by and said that they would continue the antibodies she’s receiving. Her urine output looks great.

7:25 AM - Ortho stopped by to look at her right hand. They will come by later to do a loose stitch.

7:45 AM - Meeting with the Doctors Highlights:

  • She did great practicing her breathing on her own. They want to decrease her dependency on the ventilator. They are hoping to take the breathing tube out at the end of this week (fingers crossed)

  • They want to try to introduce nutrition in her belly in small amounts

  • Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy may stop by

  • Her labs are either improving or stable

  • No new clots!

8:30 AM - Ortho came by to stitch up her hand

9:00 AM - Neurology - as you may recall, Sevyn had a seizure on Sunday, October 29th, around 7:30 AM. While on the EEG, there were no signs of additional seizures or irritated brain cells.

The MRI showed that the anterior cerebral artery (ACA) was the vessel that was compromised during the stroke, and this can cause weakness in her left leg. The range of outcomes that we may see with her left leg can be less coordination than the right side, limping, or needing a walking device.

Lord, we are praying for your divine intervention and healing for Sevyn. We ask that you touch her body and remove any damage or impairment that the stroke may have caused. We ask that you heal this area of the brain (ACA), restoring complete function to Sevyn's leg. We pray that she will not experience any loss of movement or ability and that she will be able to grow and develop normally. We declare that Sevyn will walk, run, jump, skip, and dance to glorify You. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.

The next steps include:

  • physical therapy of the left leg

  • anti-seizure medicine for the next 7 days

  • completing another ultrasound of the heart with a probe through the throat to see the back of the heart - specifically the back atrium. They will be looking to see if there are any clots in the back of the heart.

9:15 AM - Urology stopped by - they are still treating the UTI. The kidney dilation looks the same (her kidneys were dilated at birth - hydronephrosis). She will stay on the preventative antibiotics.

2:00 PM - Happy Halloween! A creepy looking Elmo stopped by and look Sevyn is a unicorn!

2:30 PM - Occupational Therapy - the therapist noted tightness of the finger flexors in her right hand (surgery hand). They will come up with a plan to work on her range of motion.

Also - her foley bag catheter was taken out, and she started formula through her feeding tube today!

Check back for more updates throughout the day!
