You don’t waste the wounds, You use them for the better
“You don’t waste the wounds, You use them for the better
When it comes to You Your answer’s always, "never"
Never forgotten
Never forsaken
Never abandoned
Not for a second
I am safe in Your hands
Always and forever
You’re never not working
My heart is the proof
There’s not a broken too broken for You
Will there ever come a day when You’re not holding me together?
You say “never”
Song of the Day: “Never” by Tasha Layton
5:00 AM - Sevyn has a little fever, and her right leg (the “central line” leg) is swollen.
The Activated Coagulation Test measures how long it takes for a person’s blood to clot. The normal range is 70 to 120 seconds for blood to clot without heparin.
Sevyn’s clotting time was 60, so the nurse adjusted the medicine.
6:50 AM - Ortho stopped by to redress her right hand
9:30 AM - Respiratory stopped by. Switched the bed to a crib. Practiced sitting upright.
10:00 AM - Ultrasound of right leg (central line leg)
11:00 AM - Morning Rounds:
they found a new partial blood clot in the left upper extremity near the armpit - axillary
renal ultrasound - stable debris in left kidney, new debris in right kidney and ureter
repeat blood cultures every 24 hours until she has 3 negatives
off of fetanyl as of yesterday
feeds - can try 5 min twice a day for breastfeeding and try bottle feeding 15ml twice a day
11:20 AM - Tried breastfeeding as recommended by the Speech Pathologist; she wouldn’t latch. She was more concerned about sleeping.
1:30 PM - Ultrasound results show a small, partial clot in her right leg where the central line is.
Urology is concerned about the debris on her kidneys, so it’s likely that the foley will be placed back on today.
